Hi all. Meet our miracle baby Luke. Born 6 months and 1 week in, due to pregnancy complications. Born 6/20/07 at 1 lb & 7 oz - 12 inches long. Went home on 10/2/07 at 5 lbs & 8 oz - 17 inches long. Thanks to the grace of God, prayers from believers in God O Mighty & the skills of doctors and nurses, he survived birth [with cord in two knots and wrapped around neck three times], beat Chronic Lung Disease & Retinopathy of Prematurity (eye disease]. Had 3 operations, liver failure & recovery [no known cause] and a long 3 ½ month stay in two different hospitals. Today, Luke is doing great!!
9/8/07. Well everything was going great, Luke was doing well and he was leaving the hospital in two days. Then bad news hit, his liver failed. The diagnoses, may need liver transplant if they can find one. If that had been the case, he would have three months to live if they didn't find a donor. But we wouldn’t know for sure until after the liver biopsy. Notice the yellow tint on his skin, which is due to his liver failure. This liver failure also prolonged his stay in the hospital for two more weeks.
